SNAP-8 — Acetyl Octapeptide-3 for SNARE Complex and Neuromuscular Research
SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3) is derived from SNAP-25 N-terminal domain, competitively inhibiting SNARE complex assembly at the neuromuscular junction to reduce vesicular neurotransmitter exocytosis.
Mechanism of Action
SNAP-8 competes with endogenous SNAP-25 for syntaxin-1 binding, destabilizing SNARE complex formation and reducing vesicle docking efficiency. Dose-dependent catecholamine release reduction in chromaffin cell models confirms the mechanism.
