DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a 9-amino acid neuropeptide first isolated from rabbit cerebral venous blood during slow-wave sleep (Schoenenberger & Monnier, 1977). Functions as a broad-spectrum neuromodulator affecting sleep architecture, stress response, HPA axis regulation, and circadian rhythm modulation.
Mechanism of Action
