Pinealon (Glu-Asp-Arg) is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator by Professor Khavinson. Targets brain tissue, penetrates cell membranes, and interacts with DNA sequences to modulate neuronal survival, differentiation, and antioxidant defense genes.
Mechanism of Action
Pinealon belongs to Khavinson's short bioregulatory peptides interacting with DNA in promoter regions. Modulates MAP2, synaptophysin, Bcl-2 expression. Protects cortical neurons against H2O2-induced oxidative stress, maintaining mitochondrial membrane potential and reducing caspase-3 (Peptides, 2011). Also influences melatonin synthesis in pinealocytes.
