Epitalon — Synthetic Tetrapeptide for Telomerase and Longevity Research
Epitalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic analog of pineal epithalamin developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson. Published in Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine (2003): telomerase reactivation in human somatic cells.
Mechanism of Action
Epitalon stimulates hTERT expression, the catalytic subunit of telomerase. Khavinson et al. demonstrated telomerase activation in human fetal fibroblasts extending proliferative capacity beyond the Hayflick limit. Also normalizes circadian melatonin secretion in aged models and modulates antioxidant enzymes (SOD, GPx).
