IGF-1 LR3 — Long-Acting Growth Factor Analog for Proliferation Research
IGF-1 LR3 is an 83-amino acid analog of human IGF-1 with reduced IGFBP binding (Arg3→Glu + 13-AA N-terminal extension), resulting in extended half-life and ~3× greater potency than native IGF-1 in cell proliferation assays.
Mechanism of Action
IGF-1 LR3 activates IGF-1R, triggering PI3K/Akt/mTOR and Ras/Raf/MAPK cascades. Less than 1% affinity for IGFBP-3 keeps more peptide in active form. Standard component of serum-free culture media for myoblasts, fibroblasts, and stem cells.
